Pep Guardiola could be the man to unite Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi after all this time if the reports about him moving to Juventus are true


   Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo could be lining up for the same team if Pep Guardiola makes the switch to Juventus.

It comes after a long season of rumours that Guardiola's heart has gone at City.

And Juve would be ahead in the queue to snap up the Catalan coach by offering him the chance to splash the cash.

One potential arrival at Juve could also be Messi, who has had a tough month at Barcelona.

The Argentine legend fell out with members of the board after lashing out at sporting director Eric Abidal.

It led to intense speculation that the 32-year-old could leave the Nou Camp for City.

But if Guardiola was to depart Manchester, too, Messi could instead follow his former mentor to Juve instead.

The project could intrigue the Spanish tactician as it is the last top European league he has not conquered.

Guardiola has titles in Spain with Barcelona, Germany with Bayern Munich and England with City.

Italy is probably the next big footballing country of the continent, while France and Portugal are tussling it out for fifth.

And though Paris St-Germain could easily sway Guardiola with cash, that might not be the ideal place for the 49-year-old at this stage of his career.

Therefore, coaching Juventus would make the most sense in terms of the next step in his career.

Many of the current crop fit straight into his philosophy, with Miralem Pjanic, Paulo Dybala, Matthijs de Ligt and Wojciech Szczesny able to play his possession style of football.

Likely casualties could be Douglas Costa, Juan Cuadrado and Aaron Ramsey - with Guardiola possibly turning to Messi, Joshua Kimmich and Jorginho.

Ronaldo and Messi pairing up together at the top of the pitch would certainly be an interesting proposition.

The two have been the undisputed kings of football for the last decade but have always been opponents.

Surely with the the duo on the same team, that strike force would inflict fear on any defence in the world.
